Artist Statement: Printmaking
This body of work is a melding of my work with color and design and encaustics. The prints are a look at line and movement and ultimately color. I focus on the composition – the placement of forms in space and their ability to move the eye across the page. My prints are about utilizing line and how that creates movement, space, and surface. Some pieces work with photographs. They are a record of my travels which is another type of line. They are like a simple visual journalistic page.
